Our Topic this Half Term is:
Our Theme is… The Seaside, how did families have fun in the past?
During this topic we will explore past and present beach games as well as how our climate has changed. We will complete radio adverts for seaside attractions and have a go at reading a weather report. We will use Computing to record this learning as well as doing art work of different beach scenes. During science week we will be investigating floating and sinking.
Our Maths learning focus …
In maths we will continue our work on Time. We are using ARAMAZU to help us learn, please visit the website and ask your child to show you how it works:
Our English learning focus...
We will be exploring the book ‘The Mousehole Cat’ and using it as a stimulus for a range of different writing genres. In reading we will also practise our comprehension skills using g DERIC and this book.
Our Core Learning skill this term is...
...Speaking and Listening. The children will be taught the skills needed to be a good speaker including speaking loudly and clearly and using different voices and intonation for effect. They will also take part in activities which promote being an active listener eg eye contact, asking questions and quick recapping. Every Tuesday in the CLS Assembly a different class will share their learning with the rest of the school.
