Kailey NorrisNursery Manager
Kailey Norris
Hello I am Kailey and I have been very privileged to work at Woolavington Nursery for 19 years, with the last 5 years as the manager.
I trained back in 1999 and after spending some time in other nurseries and running a pre-school for a year, I joined the Woolavington team. While working here, I have been lucky to work alongside some inspirational teachers who have shared their knowledge and passion for early years.
Growing up, I knew this was the job I wanted to do, supporting children as they grow and learn.
The thing I really love about my job is being with the children, sharing stories and extending their curiosity. When I am not at work, I enjoy walking my dog, Molly, and going out with friends on our motorbikes.

Laura CharlesAssistant Nursery Manager
Laura Charles
Hi I am Laura. I currently work in the nursery 2 days a week. I have worked in childcare for 12 years, caring for children between the ages of 3 months to 11 years. My mum was a childminder when I was a child and I knew I wanted to follow in her footsteps. I have studied various childcare and education courses and most recently completed my BA honours degree in children's care, learning and education. I love that every day is different at nursery, seeing the children grow in confidence and develop so many new skills is a really rewarding part of the job. I think it is really special to be part of such a great team of practitioners within the nursery, and love that I know the children will make me laugh and smile every day!

Jo McPhail
Hi, my name is Jo and I am 36 years old. I am originally from Guernsey in the Channel Islands and have lived in the UK for the past 10 years with my husband, 2 dogs and cat.
In my spare time, on rainy days, I like to curl up on the sofa and read a good book. On sunny days, I love to go out exploring Somerset on my motorbike.
I qualified as a level 2 child care practitioner 10 years ago. I absolutely love my job, watching and helping the children grow and develop into the amazing little people we all love.

Paula Johns
Hi my name is Paula. I have lived in Woolavington all my life and have worked at the nursery doing various hours for 16 years. I have four children of my own and now that they are all in school I have taken on more of a full time role. I knew I wanted to work with children from a young age and went to college straight from secondary school, where I gained my level 3 diploma in nursery nursing. I absolutely love being with the children, watching and helping them grow into the fabulous little humans beings that they are. In my spare time, I enjoy relaxing with a good book or two and socialising with family and friends.

Maddy Halley
Hi everyone my name is Maddy; I am a new friend to Woolavington Nursery. I am 19 and I am currently studying my Level 3 apprenticeship in childcare. I am a fully qualified chef and I love baking lots of delicious cakes; my favourite cake to bake is a lemon drizzle cake. I really enjoy art, horse riding, cycling and I also love dancing. I belong to a carnival club so I get to dance, sing, act and dress up in fancy costumes every September, October and November. I have two pets at my house. I have a cat called Jim, who is crazy and a naughty tortoise called Juan, who likes to hide in my garden. Juan loves strawberries and watermelon.
