Today we celebrated Red Nose Day. Children were permitted to wear non uniform in return for a charitable contribution. During our whole-school assembly this morning Miss Ellis talked to the children about the meaning of Red Nose Day, with a specific focus on the plight of refugee children who have escaped from war-zones. Pupils watched a video about a little boy from Afghanistan, who has found refuge in a Serbian refugee camp. Children learned how charitable donations have helped this little boy begin to live a safer and more enjoyable life. At the end of our assembly, we thought about how showing kindness and compassion on an every-day basis, and it being a key feature of our current Core Learning Skills -'Knowing Me, Knowing You'.
We raised a total of £171.75 - thank you so much for all your generous donations!
