You will remember that in February the children took part in a ‘Dragon’s Den’ competition to design and build a bird, to support raising awareness of the plastic in the oceans problem. On Thursday 28 March 2019 the winning teams from this competition (10 children) took their birds to the Science/STEM Challenge Final in Bristol. Bristol University hosted this final which took place in their magnificent Wills Memorial Building. The children commented on how this reminded them of Hogwarts. There were 22 other schools competing in this final. Although we were not the overall winners, our birds made a valiant effort in collecting fish. All participating schools received a plaque for taking part, working hard in raising awareness and planning their birds. I would like to thank all the children for their efforts, being well behaved, responsible and for being great school ambassadors. Thank you for your support during this project also. I am really looking forward to the next Science summit!
